A sing-along song from Noah's Ark
Two by Two
A gentle sing-along song for little ones about Noah's ark, the animals two by two and the rainbow.
Noah built a great big boat,
All the words
Verse 1
Noah built a great big boat,
Big enough for all to float,
God said, “Come in, two by two!”
Every animal came through!
Chorus
Two by two, two by two,
Lions, lambs and cockatoos!
Big and small, and me and you,
God loves all of us, it's true!
Verse 2
Pitter patter, down comes rain,
Snuggled up, we sing again,
Rocking gently on the sea,
God is watching over me!
Chorus
Two by two, two by two,
Lions, lambs and cockatoos!
Big and small, and me and you,
God loves all of us, it's true!
Verse 3
Then the sun came shining through,
And a rainbow, bright and new,
Every colour, there to see,
God will keep His word to me!
Chorus (×2)
Two by two, two by two,
Lions, lambs and cockatoos!
Big and small, and me and you,
God loves all of us, it's true!
Ending
God loves all of us, it's true!

About the song
“Two by Two” is made for the youngest singers: short words, an easy range and the same chorus every time, so it is quickly learned. It tells of Noah's great big boat, the animals coming in two by two, the rain and the rainbow, and that God loves everyone, big and small. Written for Noah's Ark, where it plays softly (without the words) while you gather the animals.
“I set my rainbow in the cloud, and it will be a sign of a covenant between me and the earth.”
Genesis 9:13
